First Time Home Buyers
For The First Time Buyer
I specialize in helping first time buyers explore whether or not a home purchase is in their near future (sometimes it’s better to wait).
There are many phases involved in a real estate purchase. It’s my job to turn novice “would-be home owners” into savvy buyers! This, I accomplish through imparting extensive knowledge and information to my clients and by being constantly available to answer any questions and respond to any concerns. When the transaction is complete, my clients know almost as much as I do about real estate!
I remain on the job and at their service to give referrals to tradespersons, for council, to provide updates on market conditions and to accept invitations to house warming parties!
What First Time Buyers Say About Working with Cindy Wilson…
My partner and I purchased our first house in 2007. We knew we wanted a house in either the Richmond Annex or El Cerrito, but the first realtor we worked with did not seem to know the areas very well, and was not able to find us the kind of listings we were seeking. She was also very unhelpful in answering questions about probate sales, the bidding process, etc. Luckily, a friend then referred us to Cindy Wilson. What a difference! Cindy was intimately familiar with our preferred neighborhoods, and was immediately able to find us some really great properties.
With her many years of experience selling properties in Alameda and Contra Costa County, she has a wealth of knowledge on the different city regulations regarding replacement of sewer laterals, property tax issues. etc. She was also a great support to us during the actual bidding process–she helped to calm our nerves and overall made what could have been a very stressful process into a more manageable one.
Finally, Cindy has great contacts for home inspections, repair services, and anything else you might need. And because Cindy really listened to us and understood just what it was that we were looking for, she found us a wonderful property that felt like, “home,” to us the first time we saw it! We are very happy in our house, and are eternally grateful to Cindy for all her help and support! I have already referred her to one co-worker, and can’t wait to send other friends her way.
“As a first time homebuyer, working with Cindy is professional and focused, but fun and honest. She helped us evaluate prospective properties with a critical, experienced view. With the most respect for our given budget and requirements Cindy helped find the best property for us. From the time our offer was accepted until closing, her guidance, level of communication and willingness to conduct business in-person was critical in navigating through what otherwise would have been a very difficult purchase. All along, her honesty and friendly personality helped us smile and laugh, the perfect remedy for a complicated process.”
"Moving to the Bay Area from LA we needed a realtor and fast! We stumbled upon a website that had Cindy's picture on it and said "she looks nice and honest" so lets go with her. Our instincts were correct. Cindy held our hands, advised us and assisted in the transition from LA. Cindy fought for us and we are now living in the house we wanted and our relationship has carried on beyond the closing of escrow. We can't imagine our experience being any better than it was with Cindy. We think of Cindy Wilson as a lady, a realtor and a friend."
"Cindy has an impeccable knowledge of the real estate market. She understood what we were looking for and showed us only properties that matched our "must have" list. Thanks to her expertise and patience we found the house that we wanted."
“Cindy is the best. We were looking for a Realtor and not having very good luck finding someone that we could work with or for that mater wanted to work with us. We came across Cindy’s website and after speaking with Cindy met with her and discussed what we were looking for and some locations we would be interested in. Cindy went to work and came up with several properties that we looked at and helped us to zero in on what we were looking for. Cindy was very good about showing us properties that fit our needs and not just show us the things she wanted us to see and try to steer us. I am happy to say our experience with Cindy was great, the people that helped after we found our house were great and Cindy continues to be a good resource as we work on making this house our own.”
"How lucky we are to have found just the perfect person to take us on this incredible journey. You have an amazing talent to make the insurmountable become possible. Thank you for being our guide and our friend, and leading us to our new home. You are the best!"
“My wife and I bought our first beautiful home in Pinole with Cindy Wilson’s help — and it’s so much more than we’d dreamed. Cindy showed us a wide variety of homes in the East Bay that fit our basic desires (ranch-style, open floor-plan, bathed in light), and she patiently listened to and counseled us through the home search. Cindy was always professional and honest with us, and insisted that we thoroughly educate ourselves about the home and talk to any potential future neighbors — which saved us from buying one particular, superficially attractive house that turned out to be adjacent to difficult neighbors in a declining neighborhood.
Cindy helped us snatch the home we’d become enamored of just as the seller was about to take it off the market to spruce up and ask for a higher price. Thanks to Cindy, we didn’t have to face the agony of that kind of competition, and we made an offer that was accepted right away.
As the deal progressed, Cindy’s vigilance and quick reading of the situation helped turn a difficult closing process involving a curve-ball appraisal to our advantage. At the time of our offer, we thought the home was a steal — but by the time we closed escrow, a potentially sour deal had sweetened considerably so that we are now able to move into and cherish a lot more home than we had hoped for — with a lot less cash.
Overall, Cindy Wilson not only eased us through every step of a difficult process, but she’s also warm, personable, and a lot of fun to shop for homes with — and, she has an uncanny talent for reading minds (or maybe that’s just part of being a good listener).
By now, you’ve probably guessed I would recommend Cindy to anyone needing navigation through the tricky process of buying (or selling) a home.”
